Evaluation: Institution

In the media industry there are variations of institutions the largest publishing company in Europe publishes in France, Germany, UK, US and Mexico is called Bauer. IPC publishes the magazine called “NME” and is another type of Media Company that also publishes multi-national and is part of Time Warner. A smaller type of Media publishing company that still publishes over 50 magazines including “Men’s Fitness” is called Dennis.

For my magazine I would prefer to publish in a smaller company that is more middle publishing to distribute my magazine because I believe it can do really well and relates to the type of audience you want to provide for, I would much rather a publishing company like Dennis to distribute my magazine because it is a middle publishing company and you would have more may with how you want to publish your magazine unlike a big publishing company such as Bauer. If you had a bigger company like Bauer publishing your magazine I think that you would get much say, power or choice over what is printed whereas a smaller company would have smaller distribution but you would get more say and power over what is printed so that way it remains more your magazine, I would never self-distribute my magazine though because it would be harder to get into the other bigger distributing companies such as WHSmith.
