There is a middle-shot image of Eminem, placed in the centre of the page and he is giving the audience eye-contact, which captures your attention, however his facial expression is slightly scary and makes you feel a bit uncomfortable, so this may be fitting in with the audience of the magazine as it is in the rap genre so the audience will want to see a rap artist on the cover looking slightly angry as this fits into how rap is (slightly aggressive) and they want to see role models that they can look up to, looking like they would be hard and have big muscles and can intimidate people; Eminem’s tattoo’s fit in with this also. There is three main font colours used, black, red and grey, these colours are quite aggressive colours and relate to the image, also red and black in themselves are two very bold colours and when they are used together they really stand out, the colour (pragmatics) of red makes you think of danger, blood, aggression etc., and black makes you think of similar things including dark things, just because of the colour, so already the colours and the image both relate to each other to instantly infer to you what sort of magazine this is and what audience it is for. The colour of the grey divides the image by breaking up the red and the black. The title is big and bold, it captures your attention and has a gradient of black and red, and this automatically captures your attention because both of the colours in themselves are bold and quite aggressive colours. The text around the edge varies from being big and small fonts but always stays bold. The way the text is arranged captures your attention because it mentions the rap artist’s names bigger than the other text that is used, this is to capture your attention and advertises the fact that those artists are in the magazine. The grey text used breaks up the magazine and makes it look that little bit more professional. The gender of the magazine is obviously aimed at boys/men as they are using Eminem as a model for people to idolise and look up to, the type of people who listen to rap tend to dress like him and want to be like him so this is what they would want to see on the front cover to make it relevant to them as a buyer. The class of this magazine I think would be a working class because the language used is in informal saying about drugs and a middle/higher class wouldn’t really like to read about drugs.
