The colours used in this magazine are mainly a gradient blue/green and black, with white also, this is sticking to three main colour schemes and relating and reflecting on each other. There is a middle shot photo of Pixie Lott (a big pop icon) and she is giving eye contact to the camera from a side angle, by doing this it captures the audience’s attention. By having a big pop icon on the front cover with a white background makes it more interesting and makes the young audience want to read it just because she is on the cover and some people may idolise her and she has the up-to-date music. This magazine is aimed at a younger teenage generation because of the person on the front cover, the fonts used, the things advertised on the front cover and the other pop artists that are advertised on the cover “Miley, Taylor JLS” are all young artists also, and are the type that the teenage generation would listen to. You can tell this magazine is more for a female as it advertises fashion on the front cover “your fashion future, hot off the rails...” this isn’t what you would expect a boy to be interesting in, or a parent either. The font used as the title is kept bold and easy to read, however Pixie’s head is covering part of the text, this is showing that she is the main focal point of the magazine. The font used to advertise her name is fancier and this is because it being more fancy and girly fits in with her type of genre and it is more eye-catching. The main texts used are blue/green is a gradient, this is more appropriate to a teenage girl as they like to see things looking pretty and interesting and different to other magazines making the audience more drawn to it. The other fonts used around the edges are blue, green, black and white, this sticks with the usual colour scheme of the title and makes it more bright, bold and colourful, it also makes a change to using the same colour and looking dull and boring, also there is two different fonts used, this makes a variation from having the same font throughout, I have also notices that the font varies in size, this helps to make more things stand out against others. Also I think a middle class would be more likely to read this as it is a higher sort of price however it advertises the fact that you can get 2 “Mags” for the price of two, this will also make the audience want to buy it more as you are getting more for your money, and by having it in this yellow shape which stands out makes your eye automatically drawn to it. The subculture I think that this person reading the magazine would fit into would be like a girly girl interested in music and fashion and stories also. Also the magazine advertises that it has life stories in the magazine and this may be what teenage girls want to read about for entertainment, because then in ways they can relate to them and look to them for advice.
